How Pakistan reached the Super 8 stage?

Pakistan advanced to the next round after a strong performance against Namibia, with opener Sahibzada Farhan scoring an unbeaten 100 runs off 58 balls. This marks the third century of the tournament, following efforts from Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka and Canada’s Yuvraj Samra.

The bowling attack, led by Usman Tariq (4/16) and Shadab Khan (3/19), significantly contributed to dismissing Namibia for just 97 runs, ensuring their 102-run victory. Pakistan previously won against the USA and Netherlands, with a single loss to India by 61 runs on February 15.

Qualification scenarios for the semifinals

During the Super 8 stage, each team competes in three matches against all other teams in their group. No points are carried forward, making every match critical. The top two teams from Group 2 will move on to the semi-finals scheduled for March 4 and 5.

If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals, their match will take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on March 4.
