GT captain Shubman Gill is now focusing on IPL 2026 after missing out on the T20 World Cup 2026 selection. The IPL season kicks off on March 26, and Sai Sudharsan, who missed most of the domestic season due to injury, is back in training with Gill.
The team has begun its training camp at Miraj International Stadium in Nathdwara, with 40 days to go before the new season. Training included a senior fast bowler while head coach Ashish Nehra observed the practice. GT had a strong IPL 2025 season, finishing third on the points table.
Sai Sudharsan won the Orange Cap with 759 runs, and Prasidh Krishna earned the Purple Cap with 25 wickets. The team, which has one IPL title, aims to secure their second championship this season.
In the IPL Auction 2026, the franchise enhanced its roster by adding Jason Holder, Luke Wood, and Tom Banton. They retained key players like Rashid Khan, Jos Buttler, and Kagiso Rabada.
