After the match, Captain Suryakumar Yadav announced a rest day for the team. He noted that they have addressed many of the T20 World Cup 2026 requirements while looking for ways to improve further. The players will use this time to reflect on their performances and strategize for upcoming matches.
Suryakumar Yadav stated, “We have ticked almost all the boxes, but even if you win, there’s always something to learn. We’ll take the day off tomorrow and discuss our points.”
India finished their Group A matches with the victory over the Netherlands in Ahmedabad. Shivam Dube and Varun Chakaravarthy stood out despite some inconsistencies. Dube scored 66 runs off 31 balls, including six fours and six sixes, helping India recover and post a total of 193 runs for six wickets.
The initial ten overs were challenging for India, where they managed only 74 runs with three wickets down. Dube and Hardik Pandya formed a crucial partnership, adding 119 runs in the last ten overs. Suryakumar Yadav contributed 34 runs from 28 balls, while Tilak Varma scored 31 off 27 balls. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck for the third consecutive match.
