India has been placed in Super Eight Group 1 for the 2026 T20 World Cup, along with South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the West Indies. They will start their Super Eight matches against South Africa on February 22 in Ahmedabad, followed by games against Zimbabwe in Chennai and the Windies in Kolkata.

During an appearance on Star Sports’ ‘Follow the Blues’, Bangar identified Ishan Kishan as one of three key players for India in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

“Three players are essential for India’s success in this tournament. Ishan Kishan is one of them due to his current batting form. With Abhishek Sharma not performing well, Ishan must take on the responsibility of providing strong starts. He is our top player,” he stated.

Bangar also mentioned Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah as important players.

“The second player is Suryakumar Yadav. He has been consistently scoring runs and adapting to different situations. The third key player is Jasprit Bumrah,” Bangar added.

“While many focus on the Indian team’s spin bowling, I believe Jasprit Bumrah will be crucial when the game is on the line,” he concluded.
