Mitchell Marsh ensured that Australia ended the Group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 on a high note, despite an early elimination. He delivered an impressive performance during the powerplay, scoring a half-century in just 26 balls. This achievement made him the sixth batter in T20 World Cup history to reach fifty within the first six overs.
Marsh’s approach was marked by controlled aggression. He quickly identified his targets and effectively punished any loose deliveries, hitting six fours and three sixes to complete his fifty.
The highlight came on the last ball of the powerplay when Wasim Ali bowled a ball around off. Marsh struck it powerfully over mid-off, initially seeming like a six before it landed just short of the boundary, allowing him to celebrate his fifty.
