Cricket South Africa revealed the home fixtures for the 2026-27 season on February 23. There has been a significant change, as the T20I series against England has been removed from the schedule.
This series was initially planned in all formats as part of the FTP 2023-2027. However, the T20I matches have been canceled due to conflicts in scheduling. CSA is currently looking for a new time slot to reschedule these games.
The SA20 2027 season started on January 9, which caused this scheduling issue. The ODI series between South Africa and England will take place during the SA20, with the final ODI set for January 15.
This is the second time that the England white-ball tour has overlapped with the SA20. The first season of the SA20 had a break to allow South Africa to participate in an important ODI series.
Upcoming Season for South Africa
The South African cricket team will kick off their home season against Australia. They have a crucial period ahead as they prepare for both the ICC World Test Championship Final and the ICC Cricket World Cup. The ODI World Cup will take place in the country of the defending WTC champions.
Following their match against Australia, South Africa will go up against Bangladesh before the England team arrives for Tests and ODIs.
