Chasing a target of 169 runs, Sri Lanka managed only 107/8 in their 20 overs. Rachin Ravindra stood out as a part-time spinner, taking four wickets for New Zealand. Kamindu Mendis scored 31 runs and Dunith Wellalage added 26 runs for Sri Lanka.
Earlier in the match, Mitchell Santner scored 47 runs and Cole McConchie contributed with an unbeaten 31 runs, helping New Zealand reach a total of 168/7. Dushmantha Chameera and Maheesh Theekshana each took three wickets.
