South African cricketer Dale Steyn has commended Tushar Deshpande for his impressive bowling in the final moments against the Gujarat Titans, which helped the Rajasthan Royals secure their second victory of IPL 2026. With just 11 runs to protect in the last over at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Deshpande surprised fans by conceding only three runs, leading RR to a thrilling win by seven runs.
Steyn highlighted Deshpande’s ability to maintain his line and length while sticking to his game plan. He noted the immense pressure on Deshpande in a match where both teams scored over 200 runs, but the bowler showed his talent under difficult conditions.
“The final over by Tushar Deshpande was outstanding. He executed his yorkers flawlessly under pressure and didn’t let a skilled batsman like Rashid Khan score. He kept his team steady in a crucial over during a high-scoring match. It’s tough for bowlers to remain composed in such situations, but Deshpande managed to stay calm and deliver as planned, which is a rare quality,” Steyn remarked via JioStar.
