The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed a record prize fund of $8,764,615 for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is a 10% increase from the 2024 edition.
This amount surpasses the previous total of $7,958,077 shared by 10 teams in the UAE two years ago as the tournament prepares to include 12 teams for the first time.
The winners will receive $2,340,000, while the runners-up will get $1,170,000. The losing semi-finalists will earn $675,000, and each group match victory will fetch $31,154. Every participating team is guaranteed a minimum prize of $247,500.
This exciting news comes just 60 days before the tournament starts on June 12, with England facing Sri Lanka at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Along with England and Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies will compete in this 33-match event held over 24 days across seven venues.
The ICC Trophy Tour with DP World will kick off today, leading up to the tournament in England and Wales this summer.
The tour will commence in London at Lord’s Cricket Ground, where it will be displayed in the central square along with a unique projection—marking the first time projections have been made on the iconic pavilion.
The trophy will then visit qualified European nations—the Netherlands, Ireland, and Scotland—before touring the tournament’s host cities in May to build excitement for the opening match on June 12.
The goal of the tour is to connect the tournament with fans, highlighting its significance in promoting women’s cricket.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy will visit the host cities on the following dates:
- Scotland: May 7 to 10
- Netherlands: May 11 to 14
- Ireland: May 15 to 18
- Leeds: May 19 to 24
- Manchester: May 25 to 27
- Birmingham: May 28 to 29
- Bristol: May 31 to June 1
- Southampton: June 3 to 4
- London: June 5 to 8
The tour will feature visits to key locations, offering numerous opportunities for fan engagement, especially in host cities like Millennium Square (Leeds), St Peter’s Square (Manchester), Bullring (Birmingham), Cabot Circus (Bristol), Guildhall Square (Southampton), and Trafalgar Square (London).
