If Abhishek, who has 309 runs to his name in 2025 Asia Cup, manages to score 94 runs in the final, then he will break the world record for most runs in a T20I series/tournament.
World No. 1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma is leading the highest run-getters list in the Asia Cup 2025. In six matches, the 25-year-old cricketer from Amritsar has scored 309 runs. Abhishek, who scored three half-centuries in three Super 4s matches for the Suryakumar Yadav-led side, will have a chance to enter his name in the history books on Sunday (September 28).
If during the Asia Cup 2025 final, which will be played between India and Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Abhishek manages to score at least 94 runs, then he will break the world record of scoring the most runs in a T20I series/tournament.
As of now, the record of scoring the most runs in a T20I series/tournament is in the name of Canada’s Aaron Johnson.
Johnson played seven matches for Canada in the 2022 Desert Cup T20I Series and amassed a total of 402 runs.
He is the only batter in the world to score more than 400 runs in a T20I series/tournament.
