Dubai Police enforce strict security for the Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium, banning banners and firecrackers.
The Dubai Police is in all readiness ahead of the Asia Cup final between India and arch-rivals Pakistan at the International Stadium on Sunday, September 28, with banners and firecrackers banned for the game. This would be the first time in 41 years that India and Pakistan will play against one another in the summit clash of the Asian tournament.
Ahead of the high-profile Asia Cup final, Dubai Police have issued strict guidelines for attending fans.
Dubai Police have advised all ticket holders to arrive at least three hours before the 8 pm IST start of play.
Fans have been instructed to follow stewards and park only in designated areas. The official website lists prohibited items, including flags, banners and firecrackers, which cannot be brought into Dubai International Stadium by supporters of India or Pakistan.
Violations like pitch invasions, carrying prohibited items, or using abusive language could attract fines ranging from Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 7.24 lakh.
Fans engaging in violence, throwing objects, or using racist or abusive language towards cricketers can face fines ranging from Rs 2.41 lakh to Rs 7.24 lakh.
Winning may not be everything, but for India’s 11 cricketers, it will be the only thing on their minds as they face an unpredictable Pakistan in Sunday’s Asia Cup final in Dubai, after a high-voltage build-up that has blurred the lines between sport and politics.
India vs Pakistan has always been adrenaline-charged, but not with such a volatile backdrop, where cricket is entangled with off-field tensions, provocative gestures and fines for both sides.
Amidst all the off-field noise, the cricket has been compelling, led by star India batter Abhishek Sharma’s audacious 200+ strike rate and Kuldeep Yadav’s 13 wickets on return.
Yet, these performances have often been overshadowed by flashpoints and feuds.
