Tilak Varma fired back at Pakistan players after his match-winning 69 in the Asia Cup final, shouting at fielders while running to the dressing room in a charged celebration.

A furiously charged-up Tilak Varma was seen giving it back to the Pakistan players after helping India win the 2025 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Tilak, who top-scored for the Men in Blue with a brilliantly anchored, unbeaten 69, was repeatedly sledged by Pakistani players throughout the innings.

The source of his emotions were clear. He began his innings when the team was three down inside the power play, chasing 147 against a bowling attack that had its tails up. He took his time initially, but built steady partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube at the other end, perfectly picking his moments to hit boundaries.

With 10 runs required in the last over, Tilak took charge again with a big six off Haris Rauf and three additional runs to set up Rinku Singh’s winning boundary. Soon after, he took off his helmet and ran to the Indian dressing room to merge with his players, repeatedly looking back to shout at the fielders.

Other videos have shown Pakistani players trying to get under Tilak’s skin during the match. “Yeh Mumbai nahi hai. Yeh IPL nahi hai. (This is not Mumbai (Indians), and this is not the IPL), Pakistani wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris was heard saying.

After collecting the Player of the Match award, Tilak had credited Samson, Dube and India coach Gautam Gambhir for his performance.

“There was a bit of pressure, but I wanted to stay on the wicket and finish the game,” he said. “They were bowling well and mixing up the pace, but I wanted to finish the game for my country. I was breathing up and trying to stay calm. It was a fantastic knock by Samson; the way Dubey batted was very important for the country. We were prepared for every position,” Tilak added.

“Gautam bhai said that we should be flexible for every position in order,” Tilak said. “When the wickets are on the slower side, I have talked to Gauti sir and have worked hard on sweep shots and running between the wickets. It was really special. One of the most special knocks of my life. This is for all the Indians. I can only say Chak de India,” he added.
