Nepal have created history by becoming the first ever associate team in men’s T20I history to win a series against a full member. Nepal achieved the feat by beating two-time world champions West Indies in the first two matches of their three-match bilateral series in the UAE. They also broke the record for the biggest T20I win (by run margin) by an associate team against a full member in the format’s history.
Netherlands got the better of Zimbabwe in a T20I in Rotterdam on June 23, 2019. Roel van der Merwe was the star of the show as he top-scored with an unbeaten 75 off 39 with the help of eight fours and three sixes to propel Netherlands to 199/6. In reply, a combined bowling display saw Zimbabwe being bowled out for 150 with Netherlands recording a 49-run win. Fourth on this list is Namibia’s shocking win over former champions Sri Lanka in a Group A match of the 2022 T20 World Cup in Geelong, Australia. Third on this list is Afghanistan’s 59-run win over Zimbabwe in a Group B match of World T20 in Nagpur, India. Mohammad Shahzad’s quickfire 40 off 23, Mohammad Nabi’s breezy half-century and Samiullah Shinwari’s measured 43 propelled Afghanistan to 186/6.
