Bumrah reached the milestone when he bowled Johann Layne for 1 in the second session at the Narendra Modi Stadium, getting there in just 1,747 deliveries — the fewest by any Indian bowler on home soil.
He also equalled Javagal Srinath’s record as the quickest Indian pacer, by innings, to the landmark, achieving it in his 24th innings. Kapil Dev (25 innings) is next on the list, followed by Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami (27 each).
