In the ICC U19 World Cup 2026 match between India and Pakistan held in Bulawayo, India opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi narrowly avoided being out due to a fielding error by Pakistan. This incident occurred at Queen’s Sports Park and quickly gained attention on social media.
Vaibhav played a crucial role for India, delivering a strong performance with aggressive shots that put pressure on Pakistan’s bowlers right from the start.
Fielding Mistake Shocks Everyone
The incident happened in the 7th over when Vaibhav attempted to hit a pull shot off Mohammad Sayyam. The ball took a top edge and soared high near short mid-wicket. Pakistan fielder Huzaifa Ahsan, positioned perfectly, failed to catch what seemed to be an easy catch, giving Vaibhav a lucky break.
Moments later, Pakistan faced another challenge. Ahsan saw Vaibhav out of his crease and aimed for a run-out. Unfortunately, wicketkeeper Hamza Zaroor mishandled the ball, and the stumps were not broken in time as the backup fielder couldn’t collect it. Vaibhav managed to return safely to his crease.
