India will include Abhishek Sharma in their playing XI for the match against Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo. He missed the previous match against Namibia due to illness but is now fit to play. India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, suggested Abhishek’s return for this crucial game on a spin-friendly pitch.

The left-handed batter participated in the opening match against the USA despite feeling unwell but had to be hospitalized when his condition worsened in Delhi.

Abhishek has lost two kilos but is recovering well ahead of this highly anticipated match in the global tournament.

Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, is eager to face Abhishek Sharma.

“Abhishek is a good player, and I hope he plays because we want to compete against India’s best team. I wish him a speedy recovery,” Agha stated.

When reporters mentioned Salman’s comments to Suryakumar, he replied playfully, “Abhishek Sharma will play if Pakistan wants.”

Abhishek will take the place of Sanju Samson, who was added to the squad after the young batter was unable to participate in the opening match at Wankhede Stadium.

If Abhishek plays, it will enhance the strength of the defending champions. He has been impressive in the shortest format, amassing over 1200 runs, including two centuries.
