Jasprit Bumrah’s first over against Pakistan on Sunday, February 15, was eventful. India’s top bowler gave away 13 runs but took two important wickets at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

While chasing a target of 176 runs, India made a strong beginning as Hardik Pandya dismissed the dangerous Sahibzada Farhan on the fourth ball of the innings. Pakistan faced early pressure as Pandya didn’t concede any runs in his first over.

Bumrah aimed to maintain the momentum from Hardik’s over. He started with a short delivery to Saim Ayub, who attempted a big shot, but the ball moved away. Ayub ended up with a top edge, sending the ball over the third man for a six.

Despite this setback, Bumrah quickly recovered. On the next ball, he bowled a fuller delivery that swung late towards Ayub’s pads. The Pakistani opener missed the ball, and it struck him on the front pad, leading umpire Kumar Dharmasena to raise his finger without hesitation.
