Sahibzada Farhan, the Pakistani opener, has been impressive in the T20 World Cup 2026. He is currently the tournament’s top run-scorer and has continually provided valuable contributions for his team, though he has also made headlines for his comments.
Former Indian player Virender Sehwag recently commented on Farhan’s performance, particularly after Farhan gained attention following the Asia Cup 2025 for creating a documentary after hitting three sixes off Jasprit Bumrah. Sehwag quipped that if Farhan can make a documentary for hitting three sixes, he deserves an entire web series for his own centuries.
In a viral clip from Fever FM, Sehwag said:
“He made three sixes a big deal, so by that logic, I should have a web series for my scores of 300, 254, and 100 runs. You didn’t dominate every bowler, yet you made a documentary on just three sixes. That’s a unique form of talent, but perhaps it shouldn’t be shown off too much.”
Farhan’s documentary, titled “Hero in Making,” was released after the Asia Cup 2025 and focused on his performance against Bumrah. With Bumrah’s strong record, hitting sixes off his bowling is a significant accomplishment, which gained attention on social media.
Currently in the T20 World Cup 2026, Farhan is the leading run-scorer with 220 runs from four matches, although he recently scored a duck against India. Nonetheless, he achieved his first T20I century in this tournament, making 100 runs from 58 balls against Namibia. He is only the second Pakistani batter to score a T20I World Cup century, following Ahmed Shehzad in 2014.
Pakistan will play New Zealand on Saturday, February 21st, at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for their opening Super Eight match.
