Before the significant Super-8 match between India and South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2026, former Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal stated that Tristan Stubbs is a better finisher than Hardik Pandya.

Chahal made this comparison when asked about the two players ahead of the match in Ahmedabad on February 22.

Both teams arrive at this match after winning all four of their group-stage games. Hardik Pandya has been crucial for India, scoring 87 runs in the group stage with an average of 21.75 and an impressive strike rate of 155.35. His skills in the final overs have been valuable for the team.

On the other hand, Stubbs has shown great consistency for South Africa. He has been out only once in the tournament, scoring 41 runs at a strike rate of 146.42. While these numbers may not seem extraordinary, his contributions during critical moments have been significant.

Stubbs also hit important sixes during South Africa’s remarkable double Super Over win against Afghanistan, demonstrating his ability to perform under pressure.
