Australia is preparing for an intense 11 months of Cricket starting in August. During this time, they will play 21 Test matches. A key challenge will be the series against New Zealand later this year, which will test both their physical and mental strength.
The two teams will compete in a four-match Test series, marking the first time since 1999 that New Zealand will play more than three Tests in a series. The matches are set for Perth (December 9-13), Adelaide (December 17-21), Melbourne (December 26-30), and Sydney (January 4-8), as confirmed by Cricket Australia.
This means both teams will face a demanding schedule of four Tests within four weeks, putting significant pressure on the players, especially the fast bowlers.
Australia’s season kicks off with a home Test series against Bangladesh and concludes with a historic 150th anniversary match against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Before facing New Zealand, Australia will have a few tough matches. Captain Pat Cummins and his team will travel to South Africa for three ODIs and three Tests in September and October. They will return in November for three ODIs and five T20Is against England before the Kiwis arrive.
On the women’s side, the Australian team will play against Bangladesh in October and then New Zealand in February-March at home, alongside an away ODI series in Sri Lanka scheduled for December. Cricket South Africa also announced a multi-format series for March-April 2027, which will include a one-off Test.
