Australia to Host U19 Women’s Tri-Series Featuring England and Sri Lanka

Australia will host England and Sri Lanka for a nine-match U19 Women’s Tri-Series in Brisbane and the Gold Coast from April 6-18. This series will include both 50-over and T20 matches, reflecting Australia’s commitment to nurturing young female cricketers.

Tegan Williamson from Western Australia will captain the Australia U19 Women’s team. Emily Powell (NSW) and Ayaka Stafford (QLD) will also be part of the leadership group. They were both part of Australia’s recent U19 tour to Sri Lanka.

Tegan Williamson represented Australia at the last ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. This series marks Meg Lanning’s first tour as Development Coach, where she will provide mentorship alongside Head Coach Kristen Beams, who is in charge of the national pathways program.

The tri-series will feature a mix of 50-over and T20 matches at Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane and Bill Pippen Oval in Gold Coast, allowing emerging players to gain important International experience.

“Playing against England and Sri Lanka will give our players experience in various match situations, which is crucial for their growth both on and off the field.

“The series is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance women’s pathways and prepare players for future ICC U19 and senior international opportunities.”
