Dom Bess, the England spinner, has secured a two-year contract extension with Yorkshire, ensuring his stay in the team until at least the end of the 2028 season.

Bess, originally from Devon, began his First-Class career with Somerset in 2016 before moving to Yorkshire in 2019. Over his time with Yorkshire, the 28-year-old has taken 227 wickets and scored 2,663 runs. His notable achievement includes seven wickets against Glamorgan in the first match of the 2026 Rothesay County Championship, marking his 300th First-Class wicket.

“Yorkshire has become my home, and I couldn’t be prouder to continue my journey with the club. These next few years will be exciting ones, not just for us on the pitch, but for all the supporters who back us each week. We have a talented squad, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this as we aim for trophies,” Bess stated on Yorkshire’s official website.

Bess served as Yorkshire’s captain during the 2025 Metro Bank One Day Cup, leading the team to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by Hampshire in Scarborough. He claimed 10 wickets in nine matches during the 50-over tournament, maintaining an economy rate of just under five.

“Our One Day Cup campaign last year was solid, with many positives from those games and the season overall. I’m excited for what is to come,” he added.

Additionally, Bess has participated in 14 Test matches for England, taking 36 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls. He made his International debut in 2018 and played his last Test in 2021 against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Bess and Yorkshire will kick off their new season with their first home game against Hampshire at Headingley in Leeds.
