Australia has announced that the men’s team will visit Bangladesh for a bilateral white-ball series in June, marking the return after 15 years.
The tour will feature three ODI matches followed by three T20I matches, starting on June 9. The ODIs are scheduled for June 9, 11, and 14, while the T20I matches will take place on June 17, 19, and 21.
The ODI matches will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, and the T20I games will be at Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
This series will also introduce a new broadcasting rights agreement, allowing the games to be shown in Australia on Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports.
Australia’s last visit to Bangladesh was in 2021 for a five-match T20I series, which they lost 4-1. At that time, there were no broadcasting agreements for the series in Australia, which prevented it from being televised.
Following the Bangladesh series, Australia will play a three-match ODI series in Pakistan starting on May 30, with details still to be finalized.
The upcoming series will be Australia’s first T20I competition since their early exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup. Additionally, Bangladesh is set to play two test matches in Australia in August, their first since 2003, at Darwin and Mackay.
Chief National Selector George Bailey stated that training camps will be held in May for Australia’s white-ball players not engaged in ongoing franchise leagues.
“We have a series of camps in May before the Pakistan and Bangladesh white-ball series. We’re focused on determining which players will participate,” Bailey shared on April 1, as reported by cricket.com.au.
