Australia has announced that the men’s Cricket team will return to Bangladesh for a white-ball series in June, marking a 15-year gap since their last visit.
The tour will consist of three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), starting on June 9. The ODIs are scheduled for June 9, 11, and 14, while the T20I matches will take place on June 17, 19, and 21.
The ODI matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, and the T20Is will take place at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
This series also marks the signing of a new broadcasting rights agreement, allowing the games to be shown in Australia. The matches will be available on Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports.
Australia last played in Bangladesh in 2021 and lost a five-match T20I series 4-1. Previously, there were issues with broadcasting agreements that prevented the matches from being aired in Australia.
Following the Bangladesh series, Australia will face Pakistan in a three-match ODI series starting May 30, with specific dates yet to be announced.
This will be Australia’s first T20I series since their early exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup. Bangladesh is also scheduled to play two Test matches in Australia in August, their first in the country since 2003, which will take place in Darwin and Mackay.
Chief National Selector George Bailey stated that training camps will be organized in May for Australia’s white-ball players and those not currently participating in franchise leagues.
“We’ve got a batch of camps in May, before the Pakistan and Bangladesh white-ball series, and we’re focused pretty intently on which players we’re going to get there at the moment,” Bailey said on April 1, according to cricket.com.au.
