The Karnataka State Cricket Association has clarified the situation regarding reported CCTV issues at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, related to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 27.

The association explained that this issue was an internal disagreement among private vendors and had nothing to do with the stadium’s official security system. The CCTV cameras involved were for private use only and not part of the security setup monitored by police and security teams at the venue.

The KSCA highlighted that the police department has a separate security network in place that operates independently and was functioning normally. The matter arose from a payment dispute between the vendor and its employees, with all technical systems being managed privately.

“The issue was identified and resolved before the stadium opened to the public. There was no security lapse, operational disruption, or danger to anyone’s safety. There was no sabotage impacting spectators, players, or officials,” the KSCA stated.

Importantly, the KSCA confirmed that everything was settled before the stadium gate opened. They reiterated that there was no security breach, no interruption to match-day activities, and no threat to the safety of players, officials, or fans. The security framework at the venue remains strong and unaffected.
