Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is making waves in the Cricket world, especially in T20 matches, showcasing his impressive batting skills. He was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for INR 1.1 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

His strong performances ensured his spot in the team, and he has continued to shine in India’s Under-19 team, excelling in the current IPL season. At just 15, he has already scored two centuries.

As interest grows in Sooryavanshi, there are rising discussions about his potential inclusion in the senior Indian team. While much of the focus has been on white-ball formats, former Australia cricketer Aaron Finch sees promise for the young talent in Test cricket as well.

“There’s definitely a spot in Test cricket for players like him. Look at Rishabh Pant; he’s unpredictable and can really challenge opponents,” Finch told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“We’ve seen Vaibhav’s capabilities against the new ball in T20. Imagine what he could do batting at five in Test cricket. His ability to strike from the first ball is impressive. He shows no fear against top bowlers and knows how to read game situations, which is remarkable for someone his age,” he added.

Sooryavanshi currently ranks as the fourth-highest run-scorer in the IPL season, with 404 runs from 10 innings. He boasts an average of 40.40 and a strike rate of 237.64, including one century and two fifties. Notably, he has hit 37 sixes, the highest in the tournament so far.
