Mumbai Indians’ captain Hardik Pandya is not playing in Match 47 of IPL 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants today, May 4, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Suryakumar Yadav is taking over as captain and announced at the toss that Pandya is unavailable due to health issues.
This marks the second game this season that Pandya has missed; he also sat out the earlier match against Delhi Capitals, which MI lost by six wickets. After three straight losses, MI opted to bowl first against LSG, welcoming back Corbin Bosch and Rohit Sharma into the lineup.
“Hardik is not well tonight, so just stepping into his role. Everything else is fine. Cobin Bosch comes in for Trent Boult, and Rohit Sharma is back,” said Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.
Rohit missed previous games after injuring his hamstring in Match 20 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but he has regained fitness, providing a boost to the five-time champions. Corbin Bosch replaced Trent Boult, who has struggled this season.
