Pakistan bowler Hasan Ali sustained a serious head injury and was taken off the field on a stretcher during the first day of the second Test against Bangladesh in Sylhet on May 16.

The incident occurred during Hasan’s first over when he bowled a delivery that was slightly short of good length. Tanzid Hasan hit the ball, directing it toward Hasan. He dived to catch it but landed awkwardly and hurt his head. Medical staff quickly arrived to assist him.

Hasan received treatment on the field before being stretchered away. Captain Shan Masood then threw the ball to Salman Agha to complete the over.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet released information regarding the specifics of Hasan’s injury.

Pakistan wins toss and chooses to field, excludes Shaheen Shah Afridi

Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan opted to field first under a slightly cloudy sky in Sylhet. After some rain prior to the match, captain Shan Masood decided to take advantage of the moisture on the pitch.

Pakistan made three changes to their team. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Imam-ul-Haq, and Noman Ali were replaced by Khurram Shahzad, Babar Azam, and Sajid Khan. Shaheen’s performance in the first Test was 5/167, and Noman had figures of 4/156.

Babar, who missed the previous match due to a left knee injury, returned just in time to be included in the lineup.

On the other hand, Bangladesh made two alterations to their team. Tanzid received his Test debut, coming in for the injured Shadman Islam, while Shoriful Islam replaced Ebadot Hossain.
