Opening batsman Sidra Amin has been omitted from Pakistan’s team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which begins on June 12 in England. The 34-year-old was also not included in the recent T20I series against Zimbabwe at home.
Allrounder Fatima Sana will captain a 15-member squad that features several new players. This will mark Sana’s debut as a full-time captain in the T20 World Cup. New additions in the fast-bowling lineup include left-arm medium pacer Tasmia Rubab and pace-bowling allrounder Saira Jabeen, joining experienced seamer Diana Baig.
Aliya Riaz, 33, is the most seasoned player in the squad, having participated in 18 T20 World Cup matches. She made her T20 World Cup debut in 2016 during the tournament held in India.
Left-handed batter Muneeba Ali follows Riaz in experience. She also debuted in the 2016 T20 World Cup and has played 17 matches so far.
