Afghanistan announced their squad for the upcoming tour of India on Tuesday, May 26. Nangyal Kharotai, Bilal Sami, and Rahmanullah Zadran have received their first call-ups to the Test team. Afghanistan will face India in a one-off Test followed by a three-match ODI series starting June 6.
Wrist spinner Qais Ahmed is back in the squad after last playing Test Cricket in February 2024. Notably, batter Ibrahim Zadran and wrist-spinner Rashid Khan are missing from the Test squad as they have been rested. This will be Afghanistan’s first red-ball match since October 2025.
