Gujarat Titans (GT) advanced to the IPL 2026 finals after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets. Shubman Gill led the way, scoring 104 runs off just 53 balls, including 15 boundaries and three sixes. The 26-year-old reached his century in just 47 balls while chasing a target of 215 runs.

During his impressive innings, Shubman set several records. He achieved the fastest hundred by a GT player in IPL history, breaking his own previous record of 49 balls against Mumbai Indians in 2023.

The 47-ball century is also the quickest in IPL playoff history, surpassing Rajat Patidar’s 49-ball ton for RCB in the 2022 season. Shubman became the first captain to score a century in playoffs and the first player to achieve centuries in playoff matches across different seasons.

Before this match, he had scored 129 runs from 60 balls against Mumbai Indians. The defending champions will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the finals on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

RR bowlers overwhelmed in second qualifier

Rajasthan set a target of 215 runs, and Gujarat started strong with 19 runs in the first over from Jofra Archer. By the end of the powerplay, Gill and Sudharsan had added 167 runs for the first wicket.

Sai was dismissed after scoring 58 runs off 32 balls, with eight fours and a six. This season marks the first time two players from the Titans have each surpassed 700 runs. The target achieved on Friday is also the highest ever chased in IPL playoffs and marks the third time the Titans have pursued over 200 runs in the league.
