Sanju Samson and Saly Viswanath shine for Kochi Blue Tigers with a brilliant run-out in Kerala Cricket League ahead of Asia Cup selection.

Star India wicketkeeper Sanju Samson and his brother Saly on Thursday teamed up for a stunning run-out in the ongoing Kerala Cricket League, showing his fielding prowess, days after he was called up for the Asia Cup, which will be played next month in the UAE.
Representing the Kochi Blue Tigers, Sanju linked up with his brother, Saly Viswanath, to run out Subin S off the very first delivery of the game at the Greenfield International Stadium on Thursday.
Playing under his brother’s leadership, Sanju was stationed at mid-off to begin the contest. Saly took the new ball himself and bowled an outswinger to start. Subin hit a drive and set off for a quick single.
Samson was sharp on the edge of the circle as he ran to his left, collected the ball and sent a brilliant throw to Saly at the non-striker’s end. The latter caught the ball without a fuss and whipped the bails out to catch Subin short of his crease.

Saly finished with figures of 2-0-8-0 and Sanju contributed with a catch as well during the first innings to bowl out the Adani Trivandrum Royals for just 97 runs.
Saly led from the front during the run chase too, scoring an unbeaten 30-ball 50 to reach the target with over eight overs to spare. Kochi next play the Alleppey Ripples, led by Mohammed Azharuddeen.
Meanwhile, there is a chance that Samson might not be a part of the XI in the upcoming Asia Cup, with Shubman Gill appointed as vice-captain. The common notion is that the latter will open with Abhishek Sharma and Samson wouldn’t find a place in the XI.
Samson provides a wicketkeeping option but if he doesn’t play, Jitesh Sharma might be the wicketkeeper.
