Leicestershire batter Lewis Hill will retire from professional Cricket at the end of the 2026 domestic season. He has played his entire career with Leicestershire, making his debut in 2015 and participating in all three formats of the game.

During his over 10 years at the club, Hill has scored 8,434 runs in total. This includes 5,291 runs in the County Championship and 1,152 runs in the Vitality Blast. A highlight of his career came in 2023 when he led Leicestershire to victory in the One Day Cup final, marking their first List A title since the 1985 Benson & Hedges Cup.

“Leicestershire has been my home for such a large part of my life, so making the decision to retire has been incredibly difficult. I’ve been fortunate enough to live out my dream of playing professional cricket and to do it for the club that means so much to me makes me incredibly proud. There have been so many people who have helped me throughout my journey – teammates, coaches, staff, and supporters – and I’d like to thank every one of them for the role they’ve played in my career. I’ve made memories that will stay with me forever. While I’m excited about the next chapter, my focus now is on enjoying every moment of the rest of the season and helping the team finish strongly,” Hill said on Leicestershire’s website.
