Bowler Shreyanka Patil suffered an ankle injury while fielding during India’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands on June 17, 2026, and has been ruled out of the tournament.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup has approved her replacement. The Women’s Selection Committee has named leg spinner Prema Rawat to join India’s squad for the rest of the World Cup.
Prema has previously played for India A Women, taking eight wickets in five matches during India’s successful campaign in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament. She was also the joint-leading wicket-taker during India A’s tour of Australia last year, with seven wickets in three matches.
