Fifteen-year-old batting star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been selected for India’s squad for a two-match T20I series against Ireland. His fearless style and consistent performance in various Cricket formats have made him a standout player.

Sooryavanshi first gained recognition through his impressive displays for Bihar, later excelling with India U-19 and India A. His aggressive batting has captured attention in the cricketing community.

This past IPL 2026 season, he showcased his skills by outperforming some of the top bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins. Sooryavanshi concluded the tournament as the highest run-scorer, securing the Orange Cap, and also earned the Most Valuable Player award, along with several other honors.

As he prepares for his International debut, Sooryavanshi received his first Team India jersey from the BCCI. He was excited to receive the iconic No. 3 jersey, which has been donned by several notable Indian players.

Among the most famous wearers of the No. 3 shirt is former Indian batsman Suresh Raina, known for his elegance and match-winning performances. Raina made a significant impact in the IPL, consisting of over 300 runs for twelve consecutive seasons and contributing to Chennai Super Kings’ success.

Another notable player associated with the No. 3 jersey is veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who took over 600 wickets for India and was part of the victorious squad in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also excelled while wearing the No. 3 jersey, amassing more than 200 wickets in white-ball cricket, making him one of India’s successful limited-overs bowlers.

Sooryavanshi now takes on the responsibility of the prestigious No. 3 shirt, aiming to establish his legacy and continue his exciting style of play on the international stage.
