Record Prize Money For Women’s Cricket World Cup
The total prize money for the eight-team marquee tournament has risen to $13.88 million, marking a 297 per cent increase from the $3.5 million awarded in the last edition held in New Zealand in 2022.
The winners of the 13th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup will receive $4.48 million, a 239 per cent increase from the $1.32 million awarded to Australia in 2022.
The runners-up will receive $2.24 million, representing a 273 per cent increase compared to the $600,000 England earned three years ago. The two losing semi-finalists will each take home $1.12 million, up from $300,000 in 2022.
Each group stage participant is guaranteed $250,000, with each group-stage win earning the victors $34,314. Teams finishing fifth and sixth will receive $700,000 each, while those in seventh and eighth place will earn $280,000.
The upcoming World Cup promises to be a major spectacle, marking the tournament’s return to India after 12 years, with eight teams competing for a record prize money pot of 13.88 million US Dollars. Defending champions Australia will aim for their record-extending eighth title, having defeated England in the 2022 final. India will be striving for their first title at home, following runners-up finishes in 2005 and 2017.
