PREVIEW

South Africa will look to pocket the three-match series when it faces England in the second One-Day International at Lord’s in London on Thursday.

The Proteas blew England away in the series opener, with left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj and medium pacer Wiaan Mulder dismantling the host by picking seven wickets between them. The English batters, many of which are coming into the series after taking part in The Hundred competition, were criticised for their rash shot selection as England lost its last seven wickets for just 29 runs.

In reply, South Africa got off to a blazing start, with Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton adding 121 runs for the first wicket. Skipper Temba Bavuma and Tristan Stubbs were dismissed off consecutive balls by Adil Rashid but the Proteas openers had already put the contest to bed.
