The stage is set for one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries to reignite, as India and Pakistan face off on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the 2025 Asia Cup.

It will be their first meeting since the Pahalgam terrorist attack earlier this year, which had strained ties between the two nations even further.

But in a surprising twist, with less than a week to go, tickets for the marquee clash remain unsold — a rarity for a fixture that usually sells out within hours of release.

Why Are Tickets Still Available?

Fans have been left stunned at the availability of seats, especially since India–Pakistan matches are historically the hottest tickets in world cricket. Traditionally, demand is so overwhelming that organizers struggle with crowd control.

This time, however, the culprit appears to be soaring prices and bundled sales packages. On official portals such as Viagogo and Platinumlist, tickets come with premium hospitality options, pushing them well beyond the reach of average fans.

VIP Suites East: ₹2,57,815 (for two seats) – includes aisle seating, unlimited food and drinks, lounge access, private entry, and dedicated restrooms.

Royal Box: ₹2,30,700 (for two).

Sky Box East: ₹1,67,851 (for two).

Even mid-tier options like Platinum (₹75,659) and Grand Lounge (₹41,153) are prohibitively priced.

The cheapest option, General East, is still close to ₹10,000 for two seats.

Observers believe the steep pricing has cooled demand, with many long-time fans venting frustration online about being priced out of a contest they once considered unmissable.

Tournament Build-Up

India will open their Asia Cup campaign against hosts UAE on September 10, while Pakistan takes on Oman on September 12 at the same venue.

The September 14 clash is expected to decide the group standings, with both teams eyeing momentum ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
