Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma added 105 runs for the first wicket to set up a straightforward win for India over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours stage in Dubai on Sunday.
Abhishek (74 off 39) struck his maiden half century of the tournament while Shubman (47 off 28) aided him in the opening seige as India shot down the target of 172 runs with seven balls to spare.
Earlier, Shivam Dube’s two wickets halted Pakistan in its track. Sahibzada Farhan’s 58 off 45 placed Pakistan on course for a big total. But the side lost its way through the middle overs and could eventually score 171 for five.
