Indian cricketer KL Rahul has acquired a team in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL), becoming the co-owner of the Goa Guardians franchise ahead of the fourth season. The league will take place in Hyderabad from October 2 to 26.

In a statement, Rahul expressed his desire to elevate volleyball’s popularity in India, stating, “PVL is a turning point for volleyball in India, and its primary objective is to make the sport accessible to more people.”

Raju Chekuri, the principal owner of the Goa Guardians, welcomed Rahul’s involvement, highlighting that Rahul’s passion for volleyball and belief in its potential will help build a franchise that inspires fans and empowers players.

The Goa Guardians are set to make their debut this season, competing with other top franchises.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul is currently resting as the Indian cricket team takes part in the Asia Cup in the UAE, with the senior right-handed batter not included in the squad. He is expected to return to action in the home Test series against the West Indies, starting on October 2.

Rahul, along with Mohammed Siraj, is included in the squad for the two-match unofficial Test series between India A and Australia A, scheduled at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow from September 23 to 26.

Rahul showcased excellent form during the recent tour of England, scoring two centuries in 10 innings across five Tests and providing vital support in the absence of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. His performances were crucial in match-winning and match-saving scenarios, contributing significantly under the new captain, Shubman Gill.
