Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for India in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s match against Bangladesh in Dubai and scored 75 runs from 37 balls. During his stay at the crease, he hammered 6 fours and 5 sixes. The five sixes against the Jaker Ali-led side at Dubai International Cricket Stadium have helped Abhishek take the No. 1 position in the list of batters with the most sixes in the T20I format of the Asia Cup.

The left-handed batter from Punjab, who also tops the ICC T20I batter’s rankings, has 17 sixes to his credit in five matches. Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz is second on the list with 15 maximums in eight games, and Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat has 14 sixes to his name in eight matches.

Most sixes in Asia Cup T20Is

In the ongoing Asia Cup, Abhishek smacked three sixes in the Men in Blue’s first match against UAE and then scored two maximums against Pakistan in Dubai on September 14. Against Oman, Abhishek scored two sixes during his 15-ball 38-run knock.

In the Super 4s match against Pakistan on September 21, Abhishek slammed five sixes during his 74-run knock.

Abhishek Sharma’s performance in Asia Cup 2025

During his 75-run knock on Wednesday, Abhishek also completed 200 runs in the Asia Cup 2025. He is the third batter after Mohammad Rizwan and Virat Kohli to score more than 200 runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20Is. In the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup, Rizwan played six matches for Pakistan and scored 281 runs, whereas Kohli amassed a total of 276 runs in five matches of the 2022 Asia Cup.

Abhishek, on the other hand, has 248 runs to his name. If he manages to score at least 34 runs in India’s third Super 4s match against Sri Lanka on Friday, September 26, then he will break Rizwan’s record of scoring the most runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20Is.
