MI London has named England International Hollie Armitage as the captain of their Women’s Team for the 2026 Women’s Hundred.

Armitage was selected during the Hundred Auction in March and joins coach Lisa Keightley, with whom she won the 2025 Women’s Hundred as part of the Northern Superchargers.

“We always hoped Hollie Armitage would captain the side after signing her. The captain’s role in a short-form game is vital, and Hollie has a strong Cricket mind and the calmness needed for key decisions under pressure,” Keightley said, according to ESPNCricinfo.

“We’re pleased with our squad and will monitor upcoming domestic talent in the Vitality Blast to finalize the team in July,” she added.

Armitage has played for England six times in WT20s and WODIs. She developed at Yorkshire and currently plays for Durham, where she also holds the captaincy.

Since 2022, she has led the Northern Superchargers, taking over from Lauren Winfield-Hill. Winfield-Hill was also the captain of the Oval Invincibles in 2025, before they became MI London for the 2026 season. Under Armitage, the Superchargers reached two finals, finishing as runners-up in 2023 and winning the title in 2025. She has scored 430 runs in 36 matches, with a top score of 46.

“Becoming MI London’s women’s captain is a great honor as we start this exciting new chapter. Lisa is a fantastic coach, and we are eager to achieve last year’s success in MI London colors,” Armitage said, as reported.

“The Kia Oval is always a great venue, and it’s especially thrilling to play there during the Hundred in front of large crowds. We can’t wait to get started,” she added.

Earlier, Sam Curran was named captain of MI London’s men’s team after he was retained before the auction.
