Sunil Narine has made a significant mark with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He has become the first overseas player to reach 200 appearances in IPL history. The 37-year-old also stands out as the only player to take 200 or more wickets for a single franchise in the IPL.

Narine’s IPL career began at the 2012 auction when KKR acquired him for INR 3.40 crore. He quickly made an impact, taking 24 wickets in 15 matches at an economy rate of 5.47, helping KKR secure their first IPL title under Gautam Gambhir.

In 2013, his earnings rose to 3.72 crore, and in 2014, he earned 9.50 crore while taking 21 wickets at an economy rate of 6.35, contributing significantly to KKR’s second title. His salary remained at 9.50 crore until 2017, after which he was retained for 8.50 crore in 2018, reflecting an 11% decrease.

In 2022, his pay further dropped by 29% to INR 6 crore, a figure he kept through 2024. However, KKR decided to retain him for the 2025 season at INR 12 crore, a 100% increase. He was offered the same amount for the 2026 season in this lucrative league.
