Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the West Indies Women’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, starting on June 12. The team will be captained by experienced all-rounder Hayley Matthews, with Chinelle Henry serving as vice-captain. This squad will also participate in a tri-series in Ireland.

Key players such as Qiana Joseph, Deandra Dottin, and Afy Fletcher are included in the 15-member team. Stafanie Taylor, Shemaine Campbelle, and Karishma Ramharack are other familiar names who will represent the Caribbean side, looking to make an impact in the UK.

Head coach Shane Deitz emphasized the importance of strong batting in the powerplay and consistent scoring in the middle overs. He noted that surpassing the 45-run mark in the powerplay significantly increases their chances of controlling matches. He also highlighted the need to limit boundaries when bowling.

Deitz further explained that the selected team has flexibility in the top order, with players adept at handling both pace and spin. The aim is to maintain aggressive intent even if wickets fall, along with ensuring batting depth to support extended attacking phases. He also mentioned the importance of bowlers who can switch between attacking and defensive strategies under pressure.
