India’s success in women’s Cricket peaked with their ODI World Cup 2025 win. Meanwhile, Pakistan, while still growing, has improved its game with each match. Over time, Pakistan has produced several excellent bowlers, some of whom have notably challenged India in the T20 format.

As both teams gear up for their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match at Edgbaston, here are three Pakistani bowlers who have posed significant challenges to India in Women’s T20Is.

1. Nida Dar

Nida Dar, a key player for Pakistan, stands out as the top bowler. Against India, she has taken 10 wickets in 13 T20Is, averaging 21.7 runs per wicket with a strong economy rate of 5.58. Her best bowling figures, 3/12, helped Pakistan achieve a memorable one-run victory over India during the 2012 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

2. Sana Mir

Former captain Sana Mir ranks second. In 11 T20Is against India, she has captured nine wickets, with her best performance being 4/13 in the 2012 Women’s Asia Cup final. While her efforts didn’t lead to a win, they highlighted her skill in challenging India’s batting lineup. She maintains an average of 24.00 and an economy rate of 5.02 against India.

3. Nashra Sandhu

Nashra Sandhu, known for her slow left-arm orthodox bowling, is also a notable player. Currently part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad, she has taken seven wickets in five matches against India. Her best figures of 3/30 came at the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup, contributing to Pakistan’s third win over India in T20Is. Sandhu has an economy rate of 5.31 against India, making her a significant threat as both teams face off at Edgbaston.
