Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Smriti Mandhana shared a heartfelt moment with Delhi Capitals (DC) player Jemimah Rodrigues after the Women’s Premier League (WPL) final on February 5. The hug has gained a lot of attention on social media.
RCB secured its second consecutive WPL title with a six-wicket victory in Vadodara. Meanwhile, Rodrigues’ Capitals fell short of achieving their fourth straight runner-up finish against RCB. Although Rodrigues, who was appointed captain before this season, had been optimistic about her team winning the championship, RCB proved to be a tough competitor on the day, despite DC’s strong performance throughout the tournament.
