Before the final, Vaibhav had scored 385 runs and moved ahead of Shinozada with this outstanding innings. In 7 matches, he accumulated 439 runs at an average of 62.71 and a strike rate of 169.49.
Earlier in the match, he reached his hundred in just 55 balls, featuring 8 sixes and 8 fours. Vaibhav now holds the record for the second-fastest hundred in U19 World Cup history.
He formed a strong partnership of 142 runs for the second wicket with captain Ayush Mhatre, who added 53 runs off 51 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
