UAE 125/3 After 16 Overs as Match Remains Open
The UAE scored 125 runs for the loss of three wickets after 16 overs, with a run rate of 7.81. Alishan Sharafu was the top scorer with 55 runs off 47 balls, including five fours and two sixes before getting out to the catch.
Captain Muhammad Waseem remains at the crease with 49 runs off 36 balls, effectively anchoring the innings. Aryansh Sharma started well but was dismissed. Harshit Kaushik and Mayank Kumar offered limited contributions.
Mitchell Santner of New Zealand bowled impressively, conceding only 23 runs in his four-over spell while taking the crucial wicket of Sharafu. Glenn Phillips also bowled well, giving away just three runs and claiming a wicket. The New Zealand fielders maintained pressure on the UAE, although Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry allowed some runs.
The final overs of the innings will be critical as more UAE batsmen are yet to come in. New Zealand aims to finish strongly while the UAE looks to boost their total score.
