Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus expressed concerns about his team’s preparation for their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against India in Delhi.

The match is set to begin at 7 PM, but Erasmus noted that his team has not had any night practice sessions, which he found surprising given the circumstances.

“We haven’t been given a night training session before this game, I don’t know why. India had two evening practices, and Canada also got night practice before their game. We’ll just show up and play our Namibian way, which is to fight,” Erasmus stated.

His remarks highlight a significant challenge for the African team, which lacks the infrastructure for day-night Cricket and seldom trains under lights. Erasmus pointed out that only a few players regularly experience night conditions, mostly those who have played in leagues like the ILT20 or Nepal Premier League, making adaptation difficult.

“We haven’t got any floodlights in Namibia. The day/night games are a challenge for us. It’s not easy for players who lack experience. Aside from those who played in the Nepal Premier League and the ILT20, you don’t really get used to the lights and training under them often,” he added.

Despite the preparation issues, Erasmus emphasized that his team aims to compete strongly against the defending champions, embracing the challenge at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

India and Namibia are both looking for crucial points for qualification, and Erasmus’s comments have certainly heightened the anticipation for this match.
