India secured the top position in Group A with a 93-run victory against Namibia in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on February 12. This win pushed India ahead of Pakistan, marking their second consecutive win in the tournament. Namibia, chasing a target of 210 runs, managed only 116 runs in 18.2 overs. Key contributions from Louren Steenkamp (29), Jan Frylinck (22), Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (13), and Gerhard Erasmus (18) helped Namibia, but it was not enough. Varun Chakravarthy led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya each took two wickets.

Earlier in the match, India posted a total of 209 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, with notable performances from Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya. However, the Indian team faced a batting collapse, losing five wickets for just 12 runs in the last two overs. Ishan scored 61 runs off 24 balls, hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes.

Hardik played a key role as well, scoring 52 runs off 28 balls, which included 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Sanju Samson (22 off 8) and Shivam Dube (23 off 16) also contributed significantly to the innings. Namibia’s captain Erasmus took four wickets while allowing just 20 runs in his four overs.

India and Pakistan are both tied with four points from two matches, but India leads due to a superior net run-rate. The two teams will face off on February 15, with the winner taking the top spot in the group.
